The MoU

Memorandum of Understanding

In the course of the years 2001 and 2002 many European institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding for ENES.

This MoU ran out in July 2004 since it was not prolonged with the necessary majority of 2/3; in fact, most of the participants probably assuned that the MoU would still be in force, and no attempt was made in this direction - until one of the partners came across the fact of the limited lifetime of the MoU.

Due to this finding, and in order to reinforce the committment of the partners, it was decided in Spring 2005 to ask the partners in an email to resign the MoU for a duration of another 3 years; a slightly different version with a new date was installed, but unfortunately not sent with the email.

The ENES coordinators now assume that this new version or a version 1 MoU with the date changed individually before signing will suffice to revive the MoU, and that this MoU will be in force after two thirds of the original partners have signed.
